Nanticoke River Watershed Atlas

Nanticoke River Watershed Atlas

The Nanticoke River remains one of the most pristine of the major Chesapeake Bay tributaries, a wild and wonderful river with presence in five counties in Delaware and Maryland. The protection of the river is critical in not only preserving this status but in improving the health of the river and the enjoyment of our waters.

The Nanticoke River Watershed Atlas includes thirteen maps that focus on particular features and characteristics of the Nanticoke River watershed and the adjacent Fishing Bay watershed. This atlas, an update of the 1996 edition created by the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, draws from data provided by geospatial map layers, studies, experts, and residents to present a comprehensive view of the Nanticoke watershed. The focus often differs from the first edition since much has changed in the watershed since then.
