Vienna Heritage Festival Formally known as the Shad Festival April 28
Layton’s Chance to hold Vienna Heritage Festival Formally known as the Shad Festival
The Chicone Ruritan Club, the town of Vienna, and Layton’s Chance Vineyard and Winery have joined together to continue the celebration of Vienna’s rich history.
Have you been looking for the Shad Fest that appears every spring in Vienna? Well, it is back, and this year it is back as the Vienna Nanticoke Festival at Layton’s Chance. In order to best utilize resources and provide the best experience possible three groups in the community have joined forces. It will be done cooperatively with the Chicone Ruritan Club, the town of Vienna and Layton’s Chance Vineyard and Winery. It will be hosted at the winery on April 28 from 11 – 4.
The Ruritan Club will sell traditional planked fish (not shad, however), as well as hot dogs, hamburgers, soft drinks, and other food. There will be educational displays for kids and adults, games, and baked goods for sale. There will also be vendors –both local and regional- all over the picnic area. The local band Second Wind will be playing from 1 – 4 in the afternoon. There will be events and activities for all ages. There will be no admission to this event. The event will be held rain or shine. For more information contact Layton’s Chance at 410-228-1205 or on the website at www.laytonschance.com.
