Youth fishing program volunteer instructors training session March 10 – Registration still open

NEWS FROM THE DELAWARE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL

Registration still open for March 10 training session for volunteer instructors in youth fishing program

The DNREC Division of Fish and Wildlife is looking for additional volunteers to be trained as instructors for the 2012 season of Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs (HOFNOD) program. A training session will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 10 at the Aquatic Resource Education Center, located east of the town of Smyrna at 4876 Hay Point Road, Smyrna, DE 19977.

If you’re an avid angler and would like to share your enthusiasm and skills with young people, consider becoming a HOFNOD (Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs) instructor with the Division of Fish and Wildlife. In the HOFNOD instructor training workshop, volunteers will learn many activities and lessons that are appropriate for helping youth become ethical anglers and grow into adults who will make wise decisions for themselves and the environment. HOFNOD volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
