The Delmarva Discovery Center has become increasingly busy in the last year with programs, tours, and customers. With a limited amount of staff, we would really appreciate some extra help serving our growing numbers. We have more volunteer opportunities open with varying tasks. If you do not have the time to volunteer, but want to help, there are other ways too.

Donations, not monetary…
While we do enjoy monetary donations, we also enjoy other types too! Do you or your office have extra printer paper laying around? Bring it by! We need office supplies to work on our daily tasks and the more products we have donated, the less money we spend. We try to keep the Wishlist up to date, but at times, our hectic schedules prevent it. If you have some items in question,
please call us.

Volunteer Opportunities
tour fishing

Whether you have the gift of gab, enjoy sharing knowledge about the Eastern Shore, were a former educator, enjoy fishing, hate dust, or love merchandising, we can use your help!

We’ve recently added “fishing” to our group tour options and could use someone to bait hooks and enjoy a few hours manning that station. This is a serious, yet entertaining position as most children participating have never fished before.
Tour Guides are always needed at the DDC! We provide tours for all ages and you’d be able to pick your preference.
The Discovery Museum Store has volunteer opportunities for cashiers, merchandisers, and people willing to dust or vacuum. Tours, summer traffic, and events keep things pretty busy and extra support in the store is always welcome.
Another opportunity to help would be during events or busy times. For example, standing at the touch tank would help visitors understand that the horseshoe crabs are “hands on” and do not sting.

If you have specific questions about ways to support the Delmarva Discovery Center, please do not hesitate to email, call, or stop by. We’d love the extra help!

Thank you,

Delmarva Discovery Center Staff
