Seeking Exhibitors for Shad Planking Event
On Saturday April 30 from 10 am to 2 pm, Vienna will be hosting its annual Shad Planking Event to celebrate and remember the American Shad and its once flourishing annual migration up the Nanticoke River. The Shad is an iconic symbol of the natural and cultural heritage of the Eastern Shore — locals and visitors are invited to come celebrate and taste the delicacy of open-fire shad planking that was once a favorite method of cooking used by Native Americans as well as settlers. There will be music, family activities, and more. Click here for additional information.
