Greenbranch Farm now offering grass finished beef!

Well, we at Greenbranch have been anxiously awaiting this moment for almost two years…we have finally finished two of our Belted Galloways entirely on grass and the meat is now for sale at the farm store.  Ted and I had a Rib Steak yesterday and it was one of the most tender, flavorful steaks either one of us has ever had.  Whoever says you need corn to get marbled, tender steaks is just plain wrong because boy is this meat marbled!  Rib Steaks, Porterhouses, T-Bones and ground beef are stocked in the store freezer with many more roasts, stew meat, top round steaks, short ribs, etc. stored in the walk-in.  The prime cuts will go fast so come in soon if you want to get them.  Here is a link to a great article about the perils of eating industrial, grain-finished meat.  It’s a real eye opener.  For information about the benefits of grass-finished beef, as well as grass-fed dairy and pastured poultry and eggs, check out www.eatwild.com.  This site is dedicated to educating people about the wonders of grass-based foods and will make you feel really good about your choice to eat these kinds of foods and support these types of farms.
